Headstrong’s Clinicians: Ann Beeder

As our network of clinicians expands, we want to highlight a few of our clinicians who help deliver the mental health care and treatment that our post-9/11 veterans deserve.

Our first featured woman leader is Ann B. Beeder, MD. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She co-founded Headstrong and serves as the Medical Director.

She has worked in trauma for over 20 years, where she pioneered the integrated treatment models that employs a multidisciplinary team approach using multiple therapy techniques and approaches. The treatment is individually tailored for each patient — not a one-size-fits-all approach to care.

She brings this methodology to Headstrong, where each veteran receives individualized treatment programs based on their needs and desire. She is also responsible for creating and implementing the screening process for all Headstrong therapists, which is a rigorous interview and in-person screening to ensure the highest quality treatment for the veterans we serve.

Headstrong Project is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 by combat veterans. Headstrong provides confidential, individually tailored, cost and bureaucracy free treatment for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans suffering from the hidden wounds of war.
