What’s your role and responsibility at Headstrong? As business manager I am responsible for overseeing day to day operations with large emphasis on finances, business processes and HR functions.

How long have you been with Headstrong? 1 year and 2 months

How did you learn about Headstrong? A good friend and former colleague Steve Amsden works for HirePurpose and introduced me to Zach Iscol, Katie Dexter and Evelyn Polcari when he learned they were looking to hire a business manager at Headstrong. I knew 3 Vietnam veterans who committed suicide after returning home and learning of Headstrong’s mission and passion to heal the wounds of war, I felt so strongly that I wanted to be a part of such an extraordinary mission.

What’s the best part about working here? The team who leads and carries on this mission, and to hear the stories of hope and healing.

What has been your favorite Headstrong moment of experience: While attending the NYC fundraising event I experienced first-hand the clients who shared their journey from hopelessness to hope. I had always heard the stories but this was the first time I witnessed it first-hand.

What are you excited about in 2018? Our growth and plan to expand our program nationally so that every client is able to receive treatment.

Headstrong Project is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 by combat veterans.
